Slot Name: Roberta’s Castle
USA Players: Accepted
Roberta’s Castle is a game that is offered by RTG and which is themed around one of the more popular stories these days, the one about Rapunzel and her very long hair. A story of German origins, it tells of a girl that is locked in a tower that has no way in, but whose hair is long enough to be used by a boy to get inside anyway. It doesn’t mention the story by name, but that’s what the theme is based upon. The game gives you 5 reels and 20 win lines, with a chance to win $75,000.
Roberta’s Castle was made accessible to players that are based in the United States, thanks to RTG’s policy to do so with all their titles.
Betting & Jackpots
The RTG slot machines tend to use pretty much the same betting system, and this one is no different. There is 20 lines total, with 20 coins which can be used to activate an equivalent number of pay lines. You can take a coin’s value from the minimum of $0.01 to $5. The total bet can be up to $100.
The game will pay best when you form a combo of five symbols with the Prince icon in them, the wild. You get 15,000 coins back if that happens, with a top value of $75,000.
The Prince symbol that the game uses as a wild will be the one to apply a 2x multiplier as well, to whatever combination is formed with its assistance. The wild helps by being a substitute for a symbol that is missing, but it does have to land in the correct position in order to be of help. Prince wilds also form combinations on their own and pay up to 15,000 coins.
The other major symbol is the scatter, showing the Window of the tower that Roberta is locked in. We have a symbol here that has the ability to appear in any position, offering you 15 free spins as long as there are at least three of them present. Scatters also pay well, offering payouts of up to 250x the triggering bet.
The 15 free spins that you win inside get a 3x multiplier for all wins, including the ones from the wild, which have their own 2x multiplier. They add up, for a total multiplier of 6x. You get a chance to re-trigger free spins as well, as long as you meet the requirements.
The design is very fairy-tale like, especially once you see Roberta in the background, sitting in her tower and with her blonde hair flowing freely all around the screen. There is a lot of yellow, pink and light blue in the design of the game. The symbols are part themed part card letters and numbers.
I’m not sure why the game didn’t use the exact name of the story that inspired it, but the result is a decent slot anyway. There is nothing truly special about what is offered inside, but all things considered, with its design, features and 15,000x payouts, it feels like a solid game.
